The Process :

The Land Of Eternal Hope

My artwork represents Eritrea, which is where I'm originally from, and it's a country located in the Horn of Africa. The sea on the bottom shows three colors, which are based on the Eritrean flag and the sun as well. The blue represents the Red Sea, red symbolizes the sacrifices made for independence, the green represents the land, and the sun represents peace. The girl on the boat is based on a popular song in Eritrea called "Semira," which tells the story of a girl from Eritrea who goes missing and is found by the sea.

Pumpkin painting:

My pumpkin is based on a picture I took. My goal for this painting was to make it somewhat realistic. I used acrylic painting. After I sketched and painted my pumpkins, they didn't turn out as I wanted, so I came up with the idea to add a Roblox face to make them more interesting. For the background, I decided to paint it black, add stars, and the moon, because I was running out of time, and it turned out well. I also added ghost kittens for extra background. For the other one pumpkin that I didn't paint, Roblox face. I decided to give it a witch hat and gave the big pumpkin a candy corn as a hat.

Fruit Painting:

My fruit is called passion fruit. I chose this fruit to paint because my favorite color is purple, and the inside was complex, so I decided to go with it to improve my art. As you can see in the center, I initially drew only 5 passion fruits, but then I noticed I had some space left, so I decided to add more. For the background, I painted it light purple and then added white circles and mini passion fruit so my paint doesn't seem like it wasn't completed. I added leafs and white dots to make it shiny because I wanna learn how to make it realistic.

Anything but a Canvas :

I chose to go with the car toy because I wanted to challenge myself to improve my art and wanted to do something different. The process was long. I painted the car with glitter glue so the colors would stay on, then I painted it with acrylic paint to make it darker, then designed it with a pencil and painted it with Posca markers. My art was inspired by Henna design, and in the top middle, I went with Christmas designs. It's a gift for my sister since it's her car.

Watercolor - Beyond the Border

My watercolor animal is a seahorse. I chose to draw seahorses because I found their shapes interesting, and I wanted to practice capturing their form. I also wanted to learn how to paint underwater scenes.

For the underwater background, I started with a dark blue at the bottom and went up with lighter blue toward the top, reflecting how the deep ocean appears very dark while the surface is much lighter. For the background, I used ink to add seagrasses, a clownfish, and smaller fish.

For the coloring of the seahorse, I mixed red and yellow watercolors. To create texture, I added salt to the painting. And, I used alcohol on the top of the seahorse's head to get a bubble-like texture.

Ink blowing painting :

I did flowers because this technique was easy to make than bubble painting. The middle one was the sun flower but I decided to add the red and blue flowers to fill the space. I also used pink water color to make a butterfly.

I also added extra flowers because it felt like the art was not completed. I just used the colors I had for the extra flowers.

Marbling :

I enjoyed doing this and this was my favorite but because I put the paper in the wrong way and a bubble came out in the middle, so I decided to paint pink bow hair. I used pink for it but for the black I made a mistake on the other side so I just went with black as well. I added pink pearls and used red.

Bubble painting:

This is my favorite so far. Originally I was going to make sunflowers using bubbles but it wasn't working. So I just went with whatever colors were there. I used the dark ink color and a pink on the other side, then I added the dark ink for the pink and got dark pink. This kind of gives black pink k-pop. And I added a line using pink for the black bubble and then black for the pink bubble. I thought it would be cool to add something on it rather than just leave it like that.

Paint pour:

I used red, brown, and gold watercolor for this. I might have also did red pink. I didn't like how it turned out because the colors were dark and there was only little gold color so I decided to add more gold water color on the middle.

for the moon, I wanted to add something so I went with an eclipse moon. I was struggling with it so I decided to make the shining part bigger but it didn't turn out bad in my opinion.

Fire/smoke painting :

I went with an anatomy heart. I got this idea because in my anatomy & physiology class we were learning about the heart. It's not exactly like the actual heart because when I did it with a candle and I was rushing. the time was running out so I lined it up with an eraser faster.

I used acrylic paint for the red line a lot, and used blue, purple, sky blue, and sparkling light blue for the veins.

Cubism :

For my cubism art, I went with my culture because I was planning to make something with cartoon characters, but doing my culture patterns for the cubism art style fit well.

I decided to do a girl wearing her culture dress and her braids because I was kind of inspired and impressed drawing a person with cubism style.

for the shapes, I just did it with a pencil and for the colors I used multiple acrylic paint.
